About
The assessment process requires cooperation from and collaboration with all levels of faculty and staff. In the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) at NC State, assessment is fully supported by the Vice Chancellor and woven into the fabric of our everyday work.
Assessment efforts at NC State are somewhat decentralized, with assessment professionals working in different units around the university. DASA Assessment has four main responsibilities:
- To support the assessment of general education competencies;
- To support outcomes assessment within units that comprise DASA;
- To support DASA program review; and
- To initiate and provide support for other division assessment efforts, evaluations, and surveys as needed.
Mission
The mission of DASA Assessment is to champion data-informed decision making in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Staff provide leadership through education, support, and facilitation of assessment processes for DASA units. DASA Assessment assists faculty and staff as they collect and review data in order to enhance student learning and support student success throughout the DASA program review process, DASA outcomes assessment, General Education Competencies, and Retention Foundations Assessment.
